Sharing a colourful afternoon together at Book Club!

A warm thank you to the lovely girls who came along to enjoy the fun at Book Club this week! ūüôā¬†The theme of our activity was looking at picture books…to be¬†inspired by the beautiful illustrations, in creating meaningful themes and stories. We took turns in sharing¬†our favourite stories from childhood, while indulging on nibbles…and¬†enjoyed reading a¬†collection of picture books, with a storytelling session read by two students, ¬†“Kissed by the Moon”¬†(by Allison Lester), ¬†and “My Two Blankets” (by Irena Kobald) who both read wonderfully to the group! ¬†Afterwards, the girls paired up together to do a word-search competition of Classic Children’s picture book¬†titles, to see which groups would complete the puzzle the quickest, before receiving a sweet Easter treat… (unsurprisingly, the chocolate Easter eggs vanished very quickly!)
We hope you have found a good book¬†to read over the holidays…but if you haven’t yet, or can’t decide what you’d like to read, then you can speak to one of the Learning Commons staff before you leave tomorrow afternoon and we’d be happy to help!
It has been a fantastic start to the year this term, and we have enjoyed sharing the joys of reading with you!
Wishing you all a wonderful¬†Easter and a safe,¬†happy holiday… Looking forward to seeing you all again next term! ūüôā

Ms. Mammone
